About Montesol Experimental Ibiza
Montesol Experimental Ibiza is a 33-room hotel on Passeig de Vara de Rey, the main boulevard of Ibiza Town, a few minutes’ walk from the port and Dalt Vila. It opened in 1933 as the Gran Hotel Ibiza, one of the first hotels on the island, and took the Montesol name in 1958.
What sets it apart is its history and design: the Experimental group reopened it in 2023 after a renovation by designer Dorothée Meilichzon, with soft whites, pastel yellows and pinks inspired by bohemian Ibiza. The hotel is open all year. It suits design lovers, couples and city-break travelers.

Beach, pools and spa
There is no pool and no spa at the hotel. For a beach day, guests can head to Experimental Beach at Las Salinas from April to October, or to the town beaches of Figueretas and Talamanca.
Activities and entertainment
The hotel is a base for exploring Ibiza Town on foot: Vara de Rey, the port, the shops of La Marina and the walls of Dalt Vila are all close. In season, the rooftop bar is the place for sunset drinks. There is also an on-site boutique.
