Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort
About Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort
Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort sits directly on Tamarindo Beach in the busy surf town of Tamarindo, on Guanacaste’s Pacific coast. Shops, restaurants, surf schools and tour operators are all within walking distance, and the bay in front of the hotel is known for its sunsets.
Its biggest draw is location. You can surf in the morning, walk into town for lunch and come back to a pool with a swim-up bar. The resort has a family side and a separate adults-only Tropicana area, so it works for families, couples and friends traveling together. It is not all-inclusive.

A full-service spa in a garden near the beach offers massages, facials and body treatments, including massages on the beach. Book treatments before you arrive.
Activities and entertainment
Tamarindo is one of the liveliest beach towns in Guanacaste, with a mix of surf shops, bars, cafes and tour agencies. From the hotel you can join a boat trip, book a sunset sail, or take a short drive to quieter beaches such as Playa Langosta. In the evening the main street fills with restaurants, so many guests split their meals between the resort and town.
Beyond the beach, the resort has a Kids Club with yoga, art and dance, a gym with fitness and yoga classes, a casino and an amphitheater for shows and concerts. Tour desks in town and at the hotel can set up ziplining, horseback riding, surf lessons and snorkeling trips. Hacienda Pinilla golf course is about a 39-minute drive away.

- Consider another resort if: you want an all-inclusive plan, a secluded beach, or a short drive from Liberia airport.
Getting there from Liberia International Airport
Tamarindo is about an 86-minute drive from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia (LIR). The small Tamarindo airstrip (TNO), served by domestic flights, is about 10 minutes away by car. The hotel can arrange an airport shuttle for a fee.
The road from Liberia to Tamarindo is paved the whole way and passes through small towns and cattle country. Allow extra time on weekends and holidays, when traffic into the beach towns can be heavier. A pre-booked transfer is the simplest way to arrive, especially with surfboards or lots of luggage.
