About Hyatt Ziva Cancun

Hyatt Ziva Cancun sits on the very tip of Punta Cancun, where the Hotel Zone bends and the resort ends up surrounded by the Caribbean on three sides. It is a large all-inclusive with 547 rooms and suites in three towers, and it is within walking distance of the Cancun Convention Center, Forum by the Sea and the clubs of the party center.

The resort works well for families because it pairs a kids club and a small water park with plenty of grown-up space. Inside the resort there is also Turquoize, an adults-only tower with butler service and its own rooftop infinity pool, so couples and multi-generation groups can share one address but have different experiences.

Because the resort wraps around the point, it has beach on more than one side and ocean views from most of the property. The pools are infinity-edge, with hot tubs looking out over the Caribbean, a children’s pool and a splash water park. Turquoize guests get their own rooftop infinity pool.

Zen Spa offers Mayan-inspired treatments and a hydrotherapy circuit overlooking the sea. A fitness center is open 24 hours.

Activities and entertainment

KidZ Club runs supervised activities for children aged 3 to 12, and teens have their own lounge called @Moods. There is also a playground and the mini water park. Evenings bring live shows in the outdoor amphitheater, and daytime options include tennis, basketball and snorkeling. Poolside cabanas come with small extras such as mini facials and fresh coconuts.

The location is a big plus for active travellers. You can walk to the Forum by the Sea and Plaza Caracol shopping centers and to the clubs around Punta Cancun, and the UltraMar ferry terminal for Isla Mujeres is about 600 meters away. That makes it easy to mix resort days with an evening out or a day on the island without needing a taxi.

Who it’s best for

Hyatt Ziva Cancun works best when different people in your group want different things: kids get the club and water park, teens get their own lounge, and adults can retreat to Turquoize or the adults-only pool bar.

  • Best for: families with kids or teens, multi-generation groups, and couples who want an adults-only tower inside a lively resort.
  • Consider another resort if: you want a quiet, intimate hotel, or you would rather be on the long, open beaches farther south in the Hotel Zone.

Getting there from Cancun International Airport

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is about 24 km (15 miles) from Cancun International Airport, roughly a 30-minute drive along Boulevard Kukulcan. To skip the taxi lines, you can book a private Cancun airport transfer in advance so your driver is waiting when you land.

After immigration and customs at Cancun airport, you pass a hall of desks offering taxis, tours and timeshare deals. If your transfer is already booked, walk straight through to the outdoor meeting area where drivers wait with name signs. Pre-booking also fixes the price, which helps if you land late or travel with a group and luggage.

Good to know

Cancun is warm all year. The dry season from about December to April is the most popular time to visit, while summer and early autumn are hotter and more humid, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November. Seaweed (sargassum) can reach Caribbean beaches in the warmer months, so it is worth checking recent beach reports before you travel.
