About Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya
Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is a luxury resort set around a horseshoe-shaped bay surrounded by tropical forest, about 25 minutes north of Tulum and close to Akumal. It opened in 2021 as the Conrad brand’s first hotel in the Mexican Caribbean and has 349 rooms built with natural materials and an eco-inspired design.
Unlike its all-inclusive neighbor, the Hilton Tulum, the Conrad is a luxury hotel where you pay for dining as you go. It suits couples and families who prefer a design-led resort, a private beach and a calm atmosphere over a busy all-inclusive.

Who it’s best for
The Conrad Tulum suits travellers who want a calm, luxury beach resort with excellent design and a strong spa, and who are happy to pay for meals as they go.
- Best for: couples and families who want a luxury, design-focused beach resort with a private bay and a strong spa, without an all-inclusive plan.
- Consider another resort if: you want everything included in one price, or a short drive from Cancun airport.
Getting there from Cancun International Airport
The Conrad Tulum is about 1 hour 20 minutes by car from Cancun International Airport (CUN). Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport (TQO) in Tulum is roughly an hour’s drive away and has fewer flights than Cancun. To skip the taxi lines, you can book a private Cancun airport transfer in advance so your driver is waiting when you land.
After immigration and customs at Cancun airport, you pass a hall of desks offering taxis, tours and timeshare deals. If your transfer is already booked, walk straight through to the outdoor meeting area where drivers wait with name signs. Pre-booking also fixes the price, which helps if you land late or travel with a group and luggage.
Good to know
Tulum is warm all year, with the dry season from about December to April being the busiest. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November, and seaweed (sargassum) can reach Caribbean beaches in the warmer months, so check recent beach reports before you go. Tulum’s ruins and cenotes are best visited early in the day.

- Not all-inclusive: dining and minibar are charged a la carte
- Spa treatments cost extra
