About Hotel Xcaret Arte

Hotel Xcaret Arte is the adults-only sister of Hotel Xcaret Mexico, on the Caribbean coast next to Xcaret park, just south of Playa del Carmen. Its 900 suites are spread across five Casas, each dedicated to an art form: Casa de los Artistas, del Diseno, de la Musica, de la Paz and de la Piramide.

Art is the theme throughout. Each Casa runs hands-on workshops in subjects like weaving, pottery and dance, and the restaurants put the spotlight on Mexican and regional cooking. Like its sister hotel, the All-Fun Inclusive plan includes unlimited access to the Xcaret parks and tours, which makes it a great pick for couples who want culture and adventure in one stay.

Who it’s best for

Hotel Xcaret Arte suits curious travellers who like to learn and create, and couples who want a lively, culture-rich adults-only resort with park access included.

  • Best for: adult couples and friends who love Mexican art, design and food and want to visit the Xcaret parks during their stay.
  • Consider another resort if: you are travelling with children (choose Hotel Xcaret Mexico instead), or someone in your group has limited mobility.

Getting there from Cancun International Airport

Hotel Xcaret Arte is about 60 minutes from Cancun International Airport (CUN), south along Highway 307 past Playa del Carmen. To skip the taxi lines, you can book a private Cancun airport transfer in advance so your driver is waiting when you land.

After immigration and customs at Cancun airport, you pass a hall of desks offering taxis, tours and timeshare deals. If your transfer is already booked, walk straight through to the outdoor meeting area where drivers wait with name signs. Pre-booking also fixes the price, which helps if you land late or travel with a group and luggage.

Good to know

Playa del Carmen is warm all year, with the dry season from about December to April being the most popular time to visit. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November, and seaweed (sargassum) can reach the beaches in the warmer months, so check recent beach reports before you go. Ferries to Cozumel leave from the town center throughout the day.
