Beach, pools and spa
The hotel sits directly on the beach at Nusa Dua, facing the Indian Ocean, with water sports such as canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding. Across the three Mulia properties there are six pools, including the Oasis Pool, described as Bali’s longest infinity pool, plus a splash pool with a water slide for children.
Mulia Spa includes a Wellness Suite with a Finnish sauna, aroma steam room, chromatherapy and an ice room, plus massage, facial and body treatments. Massages should be booked in advance.
Because the complex is large, guests at The Mulia have plenty of space to spread out, and the exclusive lounges give The Mulia guests a quieter place for breakfast, tea or a drink away from the main resort areas.
Activities and entertainment
There is a free kids club and a children’s play area, so families can split time between the beach, the splash pool and supervised activities. Water sports, fitness facilities and the spa round out the days.
Nusa Dua is a gated resort area known for calm, swimmable beaches and well-kept grounds, and it is a good base for trips to Uluwatu Temple and the beaches of the Bukit Peninsula.
Beyond the resort, Bali packs a lot into a small island: sea temples such as Uluwatu and Tanah Lot, the rice terraces and craft villages around Ubud, surf breaks on the Bukit Peninsula and the beach clubs of Seminyak and Canggu. Traffic in the south can be slow, so it pays to plan day trips by area.
Who it’s best for
- Best for: couples and families who want butler service, a beachfront setting in calm Nusa Dua and a wide choice of restaurants and pools.
- Consider another resort if: you prefer a small boutique hotel, a lively beach club scene like Seminyak, or the rice field setting of Ubud.
Getting there from Ngurah Rai International Airport
Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is about 23 minutes by car from the hotel, making Nusa Dua one of the easiest areas of Bali to reach after a flight.
A toll road links the airport area with Nusa Dua, so the drive is usually quicker and more predictable than trips to Seminyak or Ubud.
Most hotels can arrange a car to meet you at arrivals, which is the easiest option after a long flight. Traffic in south Bali can be heavy, especially in the late afternoon, so allow extra time for the return trip to the airport.
