What to expect on the day

This is a shore activity with no boat. You walk in from the beach and follow your guide while the sea scooter pulls you along, so you use less energy than on a normal snorkel. Your guide points out sea turtles, rays, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, conch, hermit crabs and tropical fish.

• Included: Sea scooter, mask, snorkel and fins, life vest, photos, drinking water, shared pickup and drop-off, and sales tax.
• Not included: Tips and anything you buy at the beach.

• Swimsuit and a towel.
• Reef-safe sunscreen.

Tips for a better day

• Pick the afternoon: Turtles are seen in the morning too, but sightings are more likely in the afternoon sessions.
• Pickup: Pickup is from selected hotels, so check that yours is on the list when you book.
• Waiver: Every guest signs a waiver, and the life vest is mandatory.

Who it’s best for

Best for: Confident swimmers who want a fun, low-effort way to see turtles and reef life.

Consider another option if: You are not a swimmer. At the Stingray City experience you stand in shallow water and no swimming is needed.

Restrictions

Not for non-swimmers: you must be able to swim or have snorkeled before. A moderate level of fitness is needed, and the weight limit is 300 lbs (136 kg). Not recommended for pregnant travelers or people with poor heart health or spinal injuries. Service animals are allowed.
