Whitsundays Resorts & Tours

The Whitsundays are a group of 74 islands off the coast of Queensland, Australia, in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef. The area is known for Whitehaven Beach and its white silica sand, sailing trips between the islands and snorkeling on the reef. Most visitors stay in Airlie Beach on the mainland, the main base for boat trips, or on Hamilton Island, the largest inhabited island in the group.
Hamilton Island Airport (HTI) is on the island, with direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Whitsunday Coast Airport (PPP) near Proserpine is on the mainland, about 30 to 40 minutes by car from Airlie Beach. The local currency is the Australian dollar. The cooler, drier months run from about May to October. November to May is warmer and wetter, and it is also stinger season, when a stinger suit is recommended for swimming. Browse resorts and tours in the Whitsundays below, from Whitehaven Beach rafting trips and sailing days to jet ski tours, Heart Reef scenic flights and crocodile safaris.
