The Horseshoe Falls and Niagara River seen from above on the Canadian side

Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls on the Niagara River, on the border between Ontario, Canada, and New York State. The Horseshoe Falls, on the Canadian side, is the largest. Most visitors stay in the Fallsview district and along Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, Ontario, where many hotel rooms look straight over the falls, or in the wine country town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, about 25 minutes north.

Most international visitors fly into Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), about 1.5 hours away by car. Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) is closer, about 30 minutes from the U.S. side. The local currency on the Canadian side is the Canadian dollar. Summer, from June to August, is the busiest and warmest season, while winter brings ice formations and the Winter Festival of Lights.
