Tahiti & Moorea Resorts & Tours

Tahiti is the largest island in French Polynesia and the gateway to the country, with black sand beaches, green mountain peaks and the capital, Papeete. Its sister island Moorea lies just across the Sea of Moons, known for its jagged peaks, Cook’s and Opunohu bays and a calm, clear lagoon. Most visitors stay on Tahiti’s west coast near Papeete and Punaauia, or at the lagoon resorts on Moorea’s north and east coasts.
International flights land at Faa’a International Airport (PPT), about 10 minutes from Papeete and the west coast hotels. Moorea is about 30 to 45 minutes from Papeete by ferry, or a short flight. The local currency is the CFP franc (XPF). The drier, cooler season runs from about May to October, while November to April is warmer and wetter.
