Mazatlán is a port city on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Sinaloa, known for its long malecón seafront promenade, its restored historic center and miles of sandy beaches. Most visitors stay in the Zona Dorada (Golden Zone) and along Playa Sábalo, or farther north around the marina and Nuevo Mazatlán, where many of the larger resorts are.

The local currency is the Mexican peso, and U.S. dollars are often accepted in tourist areas. The dry season runs from about November to May.
