Cebu is an island province in the central Philippines, known for its white-sand beaches, clear dive waters and Cebu City, one of the oldest cities in the country, with Spanish colonial landmarks such as Magellan’s Cross. Most visitors stay at the beach resorts on Mactan Island, close to the airport, and take day trips south to Oslob, Moalboal and Kawasan Falls.

International flights land at Mactan–Cebu International Airport (CEB) on Mactan Island, about 15 to 30 minutes from most Mactan resorts and about 30 to 60 minutes from Cebu City, depending on traffic. The local currency is the Philippine peso. The drier season runs from about December to May, and the rainy season from about June to November, when typhoons are possible.
