Algarve Resorts & Tours

The Algarve is Portugal’s southern coast, known for its golden limestone cliffs, sea caves and long sandy beaches facing the Atlantic. Most visitors stay in the resort towns of Albufeira, Vilamoura, Lagos, Portimão and Carvoeiro, while quieter Tavira and the Ria Formosa lagoon lie to the east.
International flights land at Faro Airport (FAO), about 25 to 30 minutes from Vilamoura, 35 to 45 minutes from Albufeira and about 1 hour from Lagos. The local currency is the euro. Summers are hot, dry and sunny from about June to September, spring and autumn are mild and good for hiking and golf, and winter is cooler, with most of the year’s rain. Browse resorts and tours in the Algarve below, from Benagil cave boat trips and dolphin watching to coastal hikes and jeep safaris.
