Granite boulders and white sand at Anse Source d'Argent beach on La Digue, Seychelles

Seychelles is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar, known for its granite boulders, white sand beaches and clear, warm water. Most visitors stay on Mahé, the largest island, then add a few nights on Praslin or La Digue, which are reached by ferry or a short domestic flight.

International flights land at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on the east coast of Mahé, about 10 to 15 minutes from Victoria and 30 to 45 minutes from the west and south coast resorts. The local currency is the Seychelles rupee, and euros and U.S. dollars are widely accepted at hotels. The weather is warm all year, with calmer seas in the transition months of April to May and October to November.
