Sunny beach in Marbella on the Costa del Sol with palm trees and straw umbrellas

The Costa del Sol is the Mediterranean coast of Málaga province in southern Spain, a long line of beach towns backed by the mountains of Andalusia. Marbella is its best-known resort town, with a whitewashed old town, a seafront promenade and the Golden Mile running west to the marina at Puerto Banús. Most visitors stay in Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona, or closer to Málaga in Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola.

International flights land at Málaga Airport (AGP), about 15 minutes from Torremolinos and 40 to 50 minutes from Marbella by car. The currency is the euro. Summers are hot and dry, winters are mild, and most rain falls between about October and April. July and August are the busiest months. Browse resorts and tours in the Costa del Sol below, from jeep safaris and parasailing to Caminito del Rey hikes, tapas tours and day trips to Ronda.
