St. Maarten Resorts & Tours

Tropical beach with turquoise water in St. Maarten

St. Maarten is a small Caribbean island shared by two nations: Dutch Sint Maarten in the south and French Saint-Martin in the north. It is known for its many beaches, duty-free shopping, the restaurants of Grand Case and planes landing just over Maho Beach. Most visitors stay around Simpson Bay and Maho near the airport, in Philipsburg and Little Bay, or at Orient Bay, Grand Case and Anse Marcel on the French side.

International flights land at Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM), about 5 to 15 minutes from Maho and Simpson Bay, 20 to 30 minutes from Philipsburg and 30 to 45 minutes from Grand Case and Orient Bay. The Dutch side uses the Caribbean guilder and the French side the euro, but U.S. dollars are widely accepted. The drier season runs from about December to April, and hurricane season from June 1 to November 30.
