Zanzibar Resorts & Tours

Zanzibar is an island archipelago in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Tanzania, known for its white sand beaches, turquoise water and the historic streets of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most visitors stay on the main island, Unguja, at beach resorts in Nungwi and Kendwa in the north, Matemwe and Kiwengwa on the northeast coast, or Paje, Bwejuu and Michamvi on the east coast.
International flights land at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ), just outside Stone Town, about 15 minutes from Stone Town and about 1 hour or more from the beaches in the north and east. The local currency is the Tanzanian shilling, and U.S. dollars are widely accepted. The main dry season runs from about June to October, with a second dry spell from December to February, and the long rains fall from about March to May.
