Aspen is a mountain town in the Rocky Mountains of western Colorado, known for its 4 ski areas, its Victorian downtown and a busy summer season of hiking, music and food. Most visitors stay in downtown Aspen at the base of Aspen Mountain, or in Snowmass Village, about 20 minutes away by road.

Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) is about 10 minutes from downtown. Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is about 1.5 hours away, and Denver International Airport (DEN) is about 3.5 to 4 hours by car. ASE is scheduled to close from early April to mid-November 2027 for runway work. The ski season runs from about late November to April, and summer, from June to September, brings warm days and cool nights.
