Vail Resorts & Tours

View of Vail, Colorado, a town in a mountain valley surrounded by forested peaks

Vail is a mountain resort town in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, home to Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski areas in the United States. Most visitors stay in pedestrian Vail Village, with its Tyrolean-style lodges and shops along Gore Creek, or in Lionshead Village to the west, with its own gondola to the slopes.

The closest airport is Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), about 35 to 45 minutes west of Vail. Denver International Airport (DEN) is about 2 to 2.5 hours away on Interstate 70, and the drive over the mountain passes can be slower in winter storms. The ski season usually runs from mid-November to mid-April, while summer brings hiking, mountain biking and fly fishing in cool, sunny weather. Browse resorts and tours in Vail below, from whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Colorado River to fly fishing and a downhill bike ride from Vail Pass.
