Destin is a harbor city on the Florida Panhandle, set between the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) near Panama City Beach is about 1 hour away. Summer is the peak beach season, while spring and fall bring warm weather and smaller crowds.
