Beach, pools and spa

The resort faces Macao Beach and has 13 outdoor pools, including a children’s pool, a lazy river, waterslides and an adults-only pool.

The full-service spa offers massages, facials, body scrubs and wraps, hydrotherapy, a sauna and a Turkish bath. Treatments need a reservation.

Activities and entertainment

The 48,000 sq ft casino has table games and slots, and there is a nightclub for later in the evening. Golfers can play the 18-hole course nearby, with Cana Bay Golf Club about a 14-minute walk away.

Families can use the free kids club, and babysitting is available for a surcharge.

Beyond the resort, Punta Cana’s coastline runs for miles from Uvero Alto in the north through Bavaro to Cap Cana in the south. Popular day trips include Saona Island, catamaran and snorkel outings, and tours into the Dominican countryside.

• Best for: families and groups who want a big, energetic all-inclusive with lots of pools, a casino, nightlife and a kids club.
• Consider another resort if: you want a small, quiet or adults-only resort, or dislike walking long distances around a large property.

Getting there from Punta Cana International Airport

Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is about 25 minutes by car from the resort.

Resorts in Punta Cana are spread along a long coastline, so transfer times vary a lot from one area to another. Pre-booking a private transfer means a driver meets you at arrivals and you avoid negotiating taxi fares after your flight.
