Beach, pools and spa

The resort sits on Medano Beach, the main swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas, with sun loungers provided. The pool area includes an outdoor pool with a swim-up bar and a freshwater infinity pool with Jacuzzis, next to a chill-out terrace.

The spa offers wellness facilities and treatments, and there is a gym with RIU Fit fitness classes.

Activities and entertainment

Getting there from Los Cabos International Airport

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas is about 40 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), roughly 35 to 45 minutes by car. To skip the taxi lines, you can book a private Los Cabos airport transfer in advance so your driver is waiting when you land.

At Los Cabos airport, the exit after customs is lined with sales desks offering transport and timeshare presentations. If you have a pre-booked transfer, keep walking outside to the meeting point where drivers hold name signs. Booking ahead fixes the price and avoids waiting in line after a long flight.

Good to know

Los Cabos is dry and sunny for most of the year. Winter, roughly December to April, is high season and also whale-watching season, when humpback and gray whales visit the area. Summers are hot, and the Pacific hurricane season runs from mid-May to November. Many beaches here have strong currents, so swim only where the beach is marked as safe.
