Rooms and suites

Victoria House offers rooms, suites and villas, from simple staterooms to large beachfront homes:

• Staterooms, Studio Rooms, Palmetto Rooms and Casitas
• Coral, Hibiscus, Rainforest and Tower Suites
• Infinity Suites with one or two bedrooms
• Beachfront villas: Casa Playa Blanca with a private infinity pool, Casa Del Sol and the five-bedroom Casa Azul
• Luxury Villas sleeping four

The villas suit families and groups, with Casa Azul sleeping up to ten. Couples have plenty of choice among the suites and casitas, from simple staterooms to Infinity Suites.

Restaurants and bars

Dining is focused on one main restaurant and a bar, plus a beach bar:

• Palmilla Restaurant: the resort’s main restaurant
• Admiral Nelson’s Bar: bar and lounge
• Beach bar

San Pedro’s restaurants are a short golf cart or bike ride away, so many guests mix meals at the resort with nights out in town.

Beach, pools and spa

The resort faces the barrier reef, with calm water off its beach. There are two pools: a main infinity pool and a beachfront pool. Casa Playa Blanca has its own private infinity pool.

La Luna Spa covers about 3,500 square feet and is described by the resort as the largest of its kind on Ambergris Caye. It has a Caribbean colonial look and offers massages and body treatments.

Activities and entertainment

Scuba diving and snorkeling trips to the reef can be arranged, along with fishing and island excursions. The staff help coordinate travel from the mainland and meet arriving guests.

Ambergris Caye sits just inside the Belize Barrier Reef, the longest in the Western Hemisphere. Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley are a short boat ride from San Pedro and are the island’s best-known snorkel trips, and divers can book day trips to the Blue Hole. Most people get around the island by golf cart, and San Pedro town has plenty of casual restaurants and beach bars.

Who it’s best for

• Best for: couples, honeymooners and families or groups who want a beachfront villa, plus travelers who like a small resort with strong service.
• Consider another resort if: you want an all-inclusive package, a kids club or nightlife on site.

Getting there from Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport

Ambergris Caye is reached from Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City by a short domestic flight to San Pedro, or by water taxi from Belize City. From San Pedro airport, the resort is about a 14-minute drive.

Victoria House can arrange airport pickups in San Pedro for a fee.

English is the official language of Belize, and the Belize dollar is fixed at two to one with the US dollar, which is accepted almost everywhere. Visitors need a valid passport. Tropic Air and Maya Island Air run short domestic flights from the international airport to San Pedro and Placencia, which saves a long drive or boat ride.
