Gold Coast Resorts & Tours

Miami Beach on the Gold Coast looking north to the Surfers Paradise skyline

The Gold Coast is a long strip of surf beaches and high-rise towns in southeast Queensland, Australia, about an hour south of Brisbane. It is known for its theme parks, its surf breaks and the green hinterland of national parks behind the coast. Most visitors stay in Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach or Main Beach, with quieter options further south around Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta.

Flights land at Gold Coast Airport (OOL) in Coolangatta, about 25 to 35 minutes by road from Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise. Brisbane Airport (BNE) is about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes north. The local currency is the Australian dollar. The weather is warm for most of the year, with hot, humid summers from December to February and mild, drier winters from June to August. Humpback whales pass the coast from about June to November.
