Sanctuary Lodge is a small hotel with 31 rooms and suites, set about 50 meters from the entrance to Machu Picchu. It is the only hotel at the gates of the citadel.

Getting there from Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport
There is no road from Cusco. From Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ), drive about 2 hours to Ollantaytambo station, take the train for about 1.5 hours to Aguas Calientes, then ride the bus about 25 minutes up to the hotel. The train from the Cusco area takes about 3.5 hours.
Book your transfer to Ollantaytambo station in advance so a driver meets you at arrivals and gets you to your train on time.
