Tours to the Marietas Islands and whale watching in winter can be arranged through the activities desk.
Who it’s best for
Garza Blanca stands out for groups who need space. Its multi-bedroom suites with kitchens let families or friends stay together, and the optional all-inclusive plan adds flexibility.
- Best for: families and groups who want large suites with kitchens and room to spread out, and couples looking for a scenic, upscale resort with the choice of all-inclusive.
- Consider another resort if: you want a flat, walkable area with shops nearby, or the shortest possible airport transfer.
Getting there from Puerto Vallarta International Airport
Garza Blanca Preserve is about 40 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), heading south through the city and along the coastal road toward Mismaloya. To skip the taxi lines, you can book a private Puerto Vallarta airport transfer in advance so your driver is waiting when you land.
At Puerto Vallarta airport, the arrivals hall after customs has many sales desks offering transport and timeshare tours. If your transfer is pre-booked, head straight outside to meet your driver at the pick-up area. Booking ahead fixes the price and makes arrival simple, especially with children or a lot of luggage.

Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit are at their busiest from about November to April, when the weather is dry and humpback whales visit Banderas Bay, usually from December to March. Summer brings heat, humidity and afternoon rain, and the Pacific hurricane season runs from mid-May to November.
