Small Group Blue Cave and Šunj Beach Boat Tour from Dubrovnik

What to expect on the day

The boat first heads to Šunj, a sandy beach on Lopud island, where you have time to swim. Next you visit three caves on Koločep island, then the Blue Cave. The skipper explains how to enter each cave and gives safety advice. You enter the caves by swimming, not by boat, and the boat stays moored close by the whole time.

Prices and extra costs

• Included: Small-group boat tour with a professional skipper and English-speaking guide, snorkeling equipment, bottled water, soft drinks, and white wine or beer (one drink at each stop). Pickup and drop-off in Dubrovnik if you select that option.
• Not included: Meals, snacks, towels and swimwear, gratuities, and pickup outside Dubrovnik.

• A waterproof bag or phone pouch for photos.

Tips for a better day

• Meeting point: The speedboats wait at the shore next to the bus stop. Contact the operator by phone, WhatsApp or Viber to arrange pickup if you booked it.
• Late season: From September 15, the afternoon tour goes to Lopud village instead of Šunj beach, which is in the shade in the afternoon. The village has sandy beaches, a botanical garden, a Franciscan monastery and restaurants.
• Toilets: There are toilets only at the sandy beach, so use one before check-in.

Who it’s best for

Best for: Confident swimmers, couples and friends who want beaches and sea caves in one morning or afternoon.

Consider another option if: You prefer to paddle under your own power close to the city walls. The sea kayaking and snorkeling tour leaves from Pile Bay.

Restrictions

Swimming skills are required, since the caves can only be entered by swimming. A life jacket is available on request. The tour is not recommended for non-swimmers, infants, pregnant travelers, or people with seasickness, spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. Infants must sit on an adult’s lap. Animals are not allowed, and the captain may change the route.

Cancellation policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time. There is no refund if you miss the tour because of a late cruise ship, delayed flight, bus or taxi, or because you booked the wrong date.
